SAMPLE ITINERARY: ISRAEL

ITINERARY 1

DAY 1

Departure from the USA

DAY 2

Arrival to Ben Gurion airport – Jaffa, Tel Aviv

  • Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport where you will be met by a Vered Tours representative

  • Visit the Ancient Sea Port of Jaffa, known to be the oldest Seaport in the world

  • Drive through Tel Aviv and along the Coast to the Resort Town of Tel Aviv

  • Rest of the day at leisure to unwind after your long flight. Time to relax and swim in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, or walk through the resort town of Tel Aviv

  • Check into hotel for dinner and overnight

 

DAY 3

Caesarea, Muhraka (Mt. Carmel), Nazareth, Cana, Tiberias

  • After breakfast, drive along the coast to the Roman city of Caesarea with its amazing excavations

  • Continue to Mt. Carmel where Elijah confronted the priests of Baal. Continue to the town of Nazareth where Jesus grew up

  • Visit the Churches and proceed to Cana the site of the first Miracle where Jesus turned water into wine. Here it is possible to renew marriage vows in the Wedding Church

  • Continue to Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee and check into your hotel near the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight

 

DAY 4

Boat Ride, Boat Museum, Mt. Of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum

  • After breakfast, take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Time for prayer and reflection on the water

  • Visit the Boat Museum where you can see the “Jesus Boat” which was brought up from the bottom on the Sea of Galilee

  • Drive up the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount

  • Visit Tabgha, the site of the feeding of the multitudes and then proceed to Capernaum where Jesus preached in the Ancient Synagogue

  • Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight

 

DAY 5

Yardenit, Jericho, Qumran, Dead Sea

  • After breakfast, proceed to Yardenit, traditional Baptism site, the same waters where Jesus was Baptized by John the Baptist

  • Drive along the Jordan Valley to the Ancient City of Jericho. Enter Jericho and view the Mt. of Temptation and the Tel Jericho. Jericho is the oldest inhabited city in the world

  • Drive to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered

  • Check into your hotel at the Dead Sea for dinner and overnight. Here you can enjoy floating in the waters of the Dead Sea which have amazing healing powers. The Dead Sea is the lowest place in the world.

DAY 6

Dead Sea, Masada, Jerusalem

  • After a late breakfast, it's time to further enjoy the waters of the Dead Sea, Visit Masada and ascend to the cliff top fortress by cable car to inspect the ruins of Herod’s palace and fortifications, which later served the Zealots to resist the Romans. Descend by cable car

  • Continue to Ein Gedi. We will hike along the stream to the falls and nearby caves where David hid from the wrath of King Saul

  • Drive up to Jerusalem and check into hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY 7 

City of David, Mt. Zion, Hall of The Last Supper, Bethlehem

  • After breakfast, drive to the old city, visit the City of David, the original site of Jerusalem, chosen by Kind David as his capital city. This includes a visit to Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the pool of Siloam

  • Visit Mt. Zion, the Hall of the Last Supper and the Tomb of King David

  • Visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu built on the site of the house of the high Priest Caiaphas

  • In the afternoon, we continue to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity where Jesus was born and the shepherds' fields where the shepherds were tending their flocks when they heard a heavenly chorus and followed the Star to Bethlehem. Time for shopping in Bethlehem.

  • Return to hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY 8

Mt. Of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations, Pools of Bethesda, Church of St. Anne, Via Dolorosa

  • After breakfast, drive up the Mount of Olives for wonderful views of the Old City of Jerusalem

  • Walk along the Palm Sunday Road to the Garden of Gethsemane

  • Visit the Church of All Nations

  • Enter the Old city of Jerusalem through the St. Stephens Gate and visit the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus cured the paralytic man

  • Visit the Church of St. Anne and begin your walk along the Via Dolorosa, starting from Lithotrities (Judgement Hall) following the Stations of the Cross

  • Return to hotel for dinner and overnight

DAY 9 

Ein Karem, Yad Vashem, Garden Tomb – Flight Back Home

  • After breakfast, drive to visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial

  • Next, drive to the Israel Museum to visit a model of Jerusalem from the time of Jesus which is on display

  • Continue to Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist

  • Visit the Garden Tomb. Time for prayer and reflection

  • Enjoy the free afternoon

  • Farewell dinner and preparation for your flight

  • After dinner, we will continue to the airport for your flight back home

ITINERARY 2

SAMPLE ITINERARY: ISRAEL & JORDAN

DAY 1

Departure from the USA

DAY 2

Arrival at Jordan

  • We arrive in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and transfer to our lodging for the next two evenings in Amman.

 

DAY 3

Petra

  • Tour the city of Petra carved out of the rose red rock. Travel northward to Machaerus, where John the Baptist was beheaded

 

DAY 4

Madaba

  • Today, we visit the following places:

  • St. George Church

  • Mount Nebo-

  • Allenby Bridge

  • Tel Aviv

 

DAY 5

Caesarea

  • Today, we visit the following places:

  • Megiddo

  • Nazareth

  • Tiberius

DAY 6

Dan & Caesarea Philipi

  • We also visit Capernaum, enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee and visit the Mount of Beattitudes

DAY 7 

Jordan River

  • Get baptized in the Jordan River. Travel southward to Beit-Shean and onward to the Dead Sea

DAY 8

Masada

  • From the mountain top fortress Masada, we proceed to visit Ein Gedi, the caves of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and end with dinner in Abraham’s Tent.

DAY 9 

Jerusalem

  • On our way into Jerusalem, we visit the Wailing Wall, the Rabbinical Tunnels and the Southern Wall Excavations

DAY 10

Jesus' Steps

  • Mt. of Olives

  • Garden of Gethsemane

  • Upper Room

  • Via Dolorosa,

  • Holy Sepulcher

  • Garden Tomb

DAY 11

Israel Museum, House of Caiaphas 

  • After an educational experience at the Israel Museum, we visit the House of Caiaphas & conclude our day with a visit to Yad Vashem

DAY 12

Home

  • An early morning departure to Amman Airport for our flight homeward will allow for arrival home by early afternoon
